01Who I am
Rayner Chew outside the Radcliffe Camera, Oxford

I'm in my final year reading Economics & Management at Hertford College, Oxford. Before that, I grew up in Singapore and went to Raffles Institution.

At school I founded Let's Talk Failure, a podcast on failure and youth mental health that ran for ten episodes and reached 5,000+ listeners, with politicians, business leaders and athletes as guests, all reached through cold outreach. Later I bootstrapped an A-Level Economics tutoring business from 5 to 40+ students in a year, and launched Economics Lah!, a policy podcast with ministers and government officials.

I care most about problems I've seen up close. EstateFlow started after watching my mother navigate my grandmother's estate.

02Now

Final year at Oxford, and splitting the rest of my time three ways.

Building EstateFlow. In the UK, bereaved families can wait 9 to 12 months for probate before they can touch an estate. EstateFlow is a legaltech platform that releases that liquidity earlier. We won the Oxford FinTech Innovation Sprint and are part of the Oxford Venture Builders pre-accelerator.

Investing. I lead consumer and emerging markets coverage at the Oxford Alpha Fund, and I've just come back from a summer of equity research at Fidelity in Hong Kong covering Chinese consumer, healthcare and internet names.

Getting better at AI. I'm trying to use it seriously every day: for research, for building, and for things like this website.
